If you or someone you know loves watching reality TV, join us for the LIVE launch of our Reality Check campaign and video contest by tuning in to the Internet this Thursday at 4 p.m. CST! Go to www.girlrealitycheck.com to watch the live event hosted by former America’s Next Top Model contestant Kasia Pilewicz and Maria Wynne, CEO of Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana. Together they will reveal findings from a national research study about the influence of Reality TV on girls today.
We will be discussing new research released today about the impact of reality TV on girls, you can see a preview in today’s Chicago Tribune!

It’s Social Media Week, in Chicago and 11 other cities worldwide. That means the who’s who will be discussing the what’s what of all things social!

The Chicago event line up is extensive, with options for everybody: from old timers to new media newbies. Chicago Social Media Week campaign manager consultant, Michael Shmarak of Zócalo Group expects around 5,000 people to attend the more than 70 events this week. “We have literally anything relating to social media that you can think of, touching people’s personal, professional and social lives,” Shmarak said.

Friday: Pay Me to Like You: An Overview of The FTC Disclosure Rules as Applied to Social Media (always important to stay on top of the industry rules & regulation, and in social media they change quickly!)

Windy City gets a Foursquare Badge

You love all things Chicago and Social Media, and now you can prove it by earning the Windy City Foursquare Badge!

Explore Chicago‘s newly launched Windy City Badge will lead you to ancient mummies, Frisbee-sized donuts, and one-of-a-kind attractions as you travel through diverse neighborhoods throughout the city.

On Friday, September 16th, 2011, Naveen Selvadurai, co-founder of Foursquare along with Mayor Emanuel announced that Chicago is the first US city to launch their own Badge! Foursquare users who “check-in” at five of 20 designated cultural and small business attractions will receive the Windy City badge. These 20 locations are:
