Don't Forget to Take it Offline!

Today I had a real life lunch with online friends!

I met PJ McGuire, an etiquette consultant at SobCon in May, and we clicked.  We followed up with connecting on LinkedIn and on Twitter and a friendship formed.

It turns out the online world is a small place – PJ and I had an overlapping circle of friends, so we planned a lunch meet and greet.  What fun to share ideas and stories with a group of smart women!

To make a small world even smaller -  Chelsea, a natural fitness competitor and Daniela from Windy City Marketing and I all used worked for the same company, Fitness Formula! I also met Danielle, she runs ShopWalk Chicago, which offers guided tours of Chicago’s best boutiques!

Talking online is great, but don’t forget to pick up the phone and find a reason to meet your online friends in real life!  Chances are you will have a great time and build a foundation for a great personal or prfoessional relationship!

Have you connected with online friends offline?  Please share stories of your new offline friendships that started online!

I love making friends – any new friends you can introduce me to would be great! Which of your online friends should I seek out  next?
